Oil marketing companies will raise dealer commissions for petrol pump dealers and adjust inter-state freight charges to help lower petrol and diesel prices. This change, effective from October 30, 2024, will not affect retail prices. Indian Oil Corporation emphasized that it aims to enhance customer service and support staff at retail outlets.

Government welcomes the decision
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri praised the increase in dealer commissions, stating it will benefit around 7 crore citizens who use fuel retail outlets daily. He noted that this decision aligns with Prime Minister Modi's vision of improving facilities in remote areas, ensuring that consumers have access to consistent fuel prices across the country.
